Terms of Service

Short version: FocusLock is free and open source software licensed under GPL-3.0. Use it however you like within the terms of that license. No purchase, no account, no trial period.

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using FocusLock, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the software.

2. License

FocusLock is free, open-source software released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0). You are free to use, copy, modify, and distribute FocusLock under the terms of that license.

There is no cost. There is no paid tier. There is no license key.

3. Intended use and disclaimer

FocusLock is a productivity tool designed to help you reduce digital distractions voluntarily. It is not a parental control system and should not be relied upon as the sole means of restricting access to content.

FocusLock modifies the operating system hosts file and runs a privileged background service. You accept responsibility for any conflicts with other software that uses these system facilities.

4. Warranty disclaimer

FocusLock is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free, that blocking will be 100% effective in all configurations, or that the software will be uninterrupted.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FocusLock and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the software, including loss of productivity, data loss, or system damage.

6. Updates

We may update FocusLock at any time. Updates are distributed via GitHub Releases. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of any changes to the software.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
